THE ORIGIN OF RAW MATERIALS: PRODUCTION AND SUPPLY CHAIN
We boast that we can produce chocolate from the raw material, cocoa beans; this gives us control over the complete production chain. Today, the quality of a product no longer passes solely through the taste buds, but also through the living conditions of people in the entire production chain, the materials with which it is packaged, and the management of energy resources involved in its production and transportation.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
Never more than today do we believe it is essential that all levels of society-governments, businesses, and individual citizens-address responsibly the environmental issue, the limits of the resources available on our planet, and their conscious management.
As a company, we continue to do our part by investing in research and managing consumption from our business. With a view to constant improvement in order to optimize our performance, we are gradually intervening by monitoring, measuring and analyzing consumption, purchasing and installing new technological systems with efficient energy performance and for self-generation of thermal and electrical energy.
THE CHOICE OF MATERIALS AND THE ENVIRONMENT
The materials used to package our chocolate are primarily a barrier that allows us to protect our products and extend their shelf-life by reducing food waste. They are equally essential for maintaining the highest quality of chocolate in terms of preserving the flavour profile and integrity of the product. Once food safety regulations have been met, packaging design for several years now has been geared toward improving performance in terms of environmental sustainability. Specifically, the values that guide our design can be identified in:
– search for alternative materials to plastic with the least environmental impact.
– Preference for materials from responsibly managed supply chains with environmental impact monitoring.
– Research and use of materials derived from post-consumer recycling.
– Reduction of packaging components.
– Preference for 100% recyclable materials.
THE VALUE OF PEOPLE
Inclusion, diversification and equal opportunity have always been part of our company’s code of ethics and set of values.
We have always tried to attach great importance to the value of each employee’s work, recognizing this commitment as strategic to business development. Thanks to this governance model, we have achieved excellent social outcomes: majority of female employees, no gender pay gap and very low turnover rate.
We are forward-looking and ready to put our trust in young people, pairing them with our experts and employees with more years of career experience so as to create a synergy between young forces and mature experience.
